About the Cultural Assets Group and the Role

The Cultural Assets Group (مجموعة الأصول الثقافية) is seeking a Head of Technical & Venue Operations to join its team. This full-time role is based at a significant new cultural and entertainment destination in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This landmark venue features cinema, year-round cultural programming, live events, F&B, retail, and hospitality, set within a prominent historic district. The successful candidate will contribute to operations across Jeddah, Makkah, and Riyadh.

Role Purpose and Context

The Head of Technical & Venue Operations is accountable for the technical integrity, operational readiness, and asset reliability of the venue. This encompasses building systems, Facilities Management (FM), and Audio-Visual-Lighting (AVL) services delivered through approved partners, alongside venue and event operations, and the Main Operations Centre (MOC). The role ensures safe, compliant, and uninterrupted venue operations across all operating modes. The venue operates under a single-prime accountability model, alternating between Normal Mode (Operating Company-led) and Festival Mode (Client-led for flagship events), with responsibilities applying across both modes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own venue operational readiness, including overlay, setup, zoning, seating, and mode-transition delivery in coordination with Programming & Activation.
  • Coordinate integrated FM and AVL obligations and manage the strict FM/AV boundary through Client-approved vendors and specialist staffing tiers.
  • Oversee the CAFM regime, including task and fault management, PPM completion, response/resolution by priority, and asset / lifecycle registers via the FM partner.
  • Run the Main Operations Centre (MOC) and manage real-time incident tracking during events and Festival Mode.
  • Lead crowd and zone management, capacity modelling, and venue-safety operations in collaboration with the Head of Operations & Guest Experience.
  • Manage supplier and contract performance, procurement of operational services, and SLA governance in conjunction with Group Procurement.
  • Deliver pre-event readiness checks, on-site standby, and silent-maintenance protocols during performances.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, statutory requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor asset performance and lifecycle planning in coordination with FM partners.

Key Relationships and Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Executive Director. Direct reports include the Venue operations & readiness team, Event overlay & setup, Main Operations Centre (MOC), FM & AVL subcontractor coordination, and CAFM / asset interface. The role operates within Layer 2 — Technical Operations & FM, with venue & event operational readiness. Key internal and external interfaces include the Head of Operations & Guest Experience, Head of Programming & Activation, Client-approved FM & AVL partners, Group Procurement, IT / Cybersecurity shared services, and relevant authorities for permits, safety, and technical compliance.

Performance Measures

Performance in this role will be measured against key indicators, including:

  • Venue readiness and on-time mode transitions / overlay delivery.
  • Critical-system uptime and zero Event-Mode failures.
  • FM/AVL SLA performance and asset-register accuracy.
  • Crowd-safety performance and supplier / contract compliance.

Location and Experience

The role requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. This position is permanently based in Jeddah, with the flexibility and willingness to travel between Riyadh and Jeddah as required by business operations. This is a full-time opportunity.
