About the Laundry Supervisor Role

Edition is seeking a dedicated Laundry Supervisor to oversee laundry operations in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to Jeddah. This full-time position requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality in all laundry processes.

Core Responsibilities

The Laundry Supervisor will be responsible for managing daily laundry operations. This includes conducting regular inventory checks of uniforms, linens, and laundry supplies, as well as operating and controlling laundry machinery such as washing, dry cleaning, and drying equipment. A key aspect of the role involves inspecting linens and towels for any damage and ensuring all laundry requests from various departments are fulfilled promptly and accurately.

Operational Oversight and Safety

This role demands a proactive approach to maintaining operational standards. The supervisor must report any defective equipment, necessary maintenance, or safety hazards to management. A significant part of the job involves training employees on all laundry procedures, with a strong emphasis on safe equipment handling and operational protocols. Adherence to company safety and security policies, including completing required training and certifications, is mandatory.

Team Leadership and Support

The Laundry Supervisor will assist management in various human resources functions, including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and counseling employees. Fostering a supportive team environment where coworkers are treated with dignity and respect, and working collaboratively to achieve common goals, is essential. The supervisor is expected to meet all quality assurance expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks. The role also involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, as well as visually inspecting tools and equipment for defects. Candidates must be able to reach above the head and below the knees, crouch, twist, bend, and move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Movement on sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces, and ascending/descending stairs, is also part of the job requirements. Effective communication with colleagues and responding appropriately to employee issues are expected.

Maintaining a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance is required. Employees are expected to protect company assets and maintain the privacy of company-owned information. The supervisor must perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors, ensuring all tasks are completed with professionalism and attention to detail.
