Role Overview: Hotel Accountant

Alhuraish Trading is seeking a full-time Hotel Accountant to join its operations. This on-site role is based in Jeddah and is integral to managing the financial activities of the hotel. The position requires meticulous attention to financial record-keeping and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily hotel financial transactions, including recording revenues, expenses, and payments.
  • Ensure accurate posting of all financial transactions to the accounting system.
  • Prepare and review daily income reports.
  • Reconcile cash and bank accounts.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable related to hotel operations.
  • Assist with monthly closing procedures and the preparation of financial statements.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with hotel management and other departments to provide financial insights for decision-making and budgeting.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including general ledger, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in hotel or hospitality accounting, encompassing revenue reconciliation, night audit review, and cost control.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including data entry, reconciliation, and basic analysis.
  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail or hospitality finance is beneficial.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work.
  • Ability to maintain organized and comprehensive financial records.
  • Capacity to work on-site in Jeddah.
  • Effective coordination with hotel and retail operations teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with local accounting standards is advantageous.
  • Arabic proficiency is an advantage.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Jeddah, with responsibilities extending to Makkah operations.
