About the Hostess Role

SWOT Hospitality is seeking a dedicated Hostess to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to creating an exceptional dining experience by warmly welcoming guests, efficiently managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements. The role requires a blend of strong communication, customer service, and organizational abilities to maintain a welcoming and efficient front-of-house operation.

Core Responsibilities

• Greet customers upon arrival and manage waiting lists, providing accurate wait times.
• Escort guests to their assigned dining or bar areas, present menus, and introduce their server.
• Handle phone calls, take reservations, and address guest inquiries professionally.
• Optimize seating arrangements to ensure an even workload for wait staff and accommodate guest preferences.
• Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, and respond to complaints to facilitate resolution.
• Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
• Provide attentive service to guests requiring extra attention, such as children or the elderly, and cater to special needs and requests.
• Assist and coordinate effectively with kitchen and service staff as needed.
• Support dining room operations by setting and clearing tables, replenishing water, and serving beverages.
• Process dining charges for to-go orders, including verifying orders, calculating taxes, and totaling bills.
• Adhere strictly to all sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies to protect both the establishment and patrons.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Previous work experience as a Host or Hostess.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional experience, education, training, or certifications are considered a plus.
• Demonstrable experience in managing reservations and strong customer-service skills.
• Familiarity with restaurant etiquette and health and safety regulations.
• Basic math and computer skills.

• Good knowledge of menu offerings.
• Knowledge of a second language is considered a plus.

• Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to perform high-quality work with minimal supervision.
• Expected to contribute to the overall team effort by assisting with other restaurant positions as needed.
