The Role: Payroll Officer

UMC is seeking a Payroll Officer to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah. This full-time, on-site position is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all payroll-related operations for the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Review payroll registers for workforce employees before final approval.
• Review the calculation of allowances, deductions, overtime, leave entitlements, and end-of-service benefits.
• Ensure payroll calculations comply with employment contracts and applicable labor regulations.
• Review bank transfer files before submission for approval.
• Follow up on payroll discrepancies or errors and implement necessary corrective actions.
• Review and approve payroll-related financial provisions, including annual leave, end-of-service benefits, bonuses, and incentives, ensuring compliance with approved accounting policies and standards.
• Prepare monthly payroll accrual journal entries and ensure accurate posting to the accounting system.
• Reconcile payroll and payroll provision accounts with the General Ledger (GL), verify balances, and perform required adjustments.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports related to payroll costs, employee benefits, and monthly payroll variances for management.
• Coordinate with the Finance Department and external auditors regarding payroll accounts and provide supporting documentation.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment of all payroll-related transactions in accordance with approved accounting policies.
• Supervise the monthly and annual financial closing processes related to payroll and payroll provisions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in payroll management or a related financial role.
• Demonstrated practical experience using Payroll Systems and payroll processing software to manage operations, generate reports, and resolve system issues.
• Strong understanding of salary calculations, deductions, benefits, payroll taxes, and statutory contributions.
• Familiarity with local labor and tax regulations.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports and reconcile accounts accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
