About the Role

* Renal Care Saudi Arabia is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team in the Makkah region, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position is ideal for professionals with 0-1 years of experience, offering an opportunity to contribute to patient care and medication management within a specialized healthcare environment.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Pharmacist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, appropriate, and effective use of medications for all patients. This involves meticulous prescription monitoring, providing expert advice on dosages and medication forms, and actively participating in patient care decisions. The role also encompasses maintaining medication integrity, educating staff, and contributing to overall clinical quality outcomes.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and safety for individual patients.
  • Provide expert advice on medication dosages and the most suitable forms of medication (*, tablet, injection, ointment, or inhaler).
  • Document all relevant information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
  • Publish educational information for other pharmacists, doctors, nurses, and/or patients.
  • Participate in patient rounds, take patient drug histories, and contribute to decision-making on appropriate treatments.
  • Ensure medications are stored appropriately and securely, and conduct monthly checks and documentation.
  • Supervise the work of less experienced and less qualified staff members.
  • Actively track the latest advancements in pharmaceutical research and development.
  • Establish clear guidelines for drug use within the center and effectively enforce center regulations.
  • Provide information regarding expenditure on drugs.
  • Prepare and quality-check sterile medications, such as intravenous medications.
  • Prepare necessary medications and supplies, accurately measure and mix medications following prescribed guidelines, and maintain a clean workspace with adherence to safety protocols.
  • Double-check medications with another staff member for consistency and effectiveness.
  • Educate USRC teammates and new pharmacists joining the organization.
  • Ensure high-alert medicines are labeled appropriately and securely.
  • Ensure the crash cart medication box is sealed and refilled after use.

Patient Care and Quality Improvement

  • Contribute actively to achieving clinical quality outcome indicators and enhancing patient satisfaction.
  • Lead assigned unit-based Performance Improvement activities.
  • Promote a safe environment and patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying risk areas to the nurse supervisor.
  • Comply with policies for patient safety and for preventing healthcare-associated infections.
  • Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships towards constant improvement in quality patient care.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and families, identifying ideas to improve patient care quality and issues that may negatively affect patient care outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this full-time Pharmacist position should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience. A strong commitment to patient safety, medication accuracy, and continuous professional development is essential.
