About the Role

YO IT Consulting is seeking a SQL QA Lead for a full-time remote contractor role based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This position involves overseeing the quality, consistency, and performance of trainers across SQL and database AI training projects. The successful candidate will ensure high standards in AI-generated SQL queries, database explanations, and data-modeling content.

Role Context and Impact

This role is with a rapidly expanding AI Data Services company that provides training data to leading AI companies and foundation-model labs globally. As a SQL QA Lead, you will directly contribute to enhancing premier AI models by ensuring that all SQL training data is accurate, executable, logically sound, well-documented, and aligned with client expectations. Your work will involve evaluating output quality against project guidelines and providing precise written feedback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spot-check SQL/database items, identify issues, provide direct feedback, and escalate recurring or critical concerns.
  • Review AI-generated SQL queries, database explanations, schema reasoning, analytics workflows, and optimization recommendations.
  • Communicate updates to trainers and QAs regarding guidelines, workflow changes, and SQL-specific quality expectations.
  • Address questions related to joins, aggregations, window functions, query dialects, schema design, performance, security, and rubric interpretation.
  • Engage inactive contributors, encourage activation, track follow-ups, and flag availability issues.
  • Develop and maintain SQL documentation, style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
  • Conduct onboarding and training calls for SQL contributors.
  • Identify and flag misleading, non-executable, inefficient, insecure, or dialect-incompatible SQL recommendations.
  • Analyze recurring quality gaps and propose improvements to SQL QA workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting remote teams of analysts, engineers, reviewers, annotators, educators, or QAs is strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized with proven ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, honeypots, calibration tasks, and documentation.
