About the Role

alfanar, a company operating construction and manufacturing businesses, design & development centers, and various facilities across the Middle East and beyond, is seeking an ENGINEER, QA / QC CIVIL for its operations in Dammam. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience. alfanar is involved in electrical, electromechanical, and civil engineering construction, manufacturing and marketing of electrical construction products, and allied engineering services through its divisions including alfanar electric, alfanar Construction, and alfanar Building Systems. alfanar Construction is recognized as a Grade I contractor and an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company with a strong presence in the Energy, Infrastructure, and Engineering Services sectors.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to efficiently and effectively perform project civil Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities. This involves adhering to defined policies and procedures to meet departmental operational plans and development objectives, ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Implement the Quality Management System (QMS) and coordinate quality-related activities with clients, consultants, and vendors.
Maintain system manuals, relevant standards, client specifications, technical data sheets, and other inspection-related documents.
Verify accreditations, certifications, and profiles of vendors and external agencies.
Manage quality records including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and weekly QA/QC reports.
Prepare quality documents such as Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements (MOS), and checklists.
Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, method statements, and Project Technical Specifications (PTS).
Conduct site installation inspections, material receiving inspections, and verify compliance of materials and equipment with contract requirements.
Oversee required tests and ensure their compliance, and maintain calibration of inspection and testing equipment.
Coordinate with project teams, clients, and consultants on QC matters and liaise with independent testing laboratories.
Report quality-related issues to the Project Manager and TQM Manager, and maintain traceable quality records.

Role Accountabilities

Delivery: Meet operational and development targets according to schedules, utilizing resources efficiently for cost and time objectives.
Problem-Solving: Resolve arising problems and escalate complex operational issues as needed.
Quality: Ensure quality requirements are met through effective control processes and specifications.
Business Process Improvement: Coordinate written systems, policies, and procedures, and identify automation opportunities.
Compliance: Adhere to all related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

This role requires a minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in QA/QC Civil engineering roles. A strong understanding of construction and manufacturing quality standards, as well as EPC project requirements, is essential.
