About the Role

Oliver Wyman is seeking an Associate to join its Government and Public Institutions team, with a specific focus on Defense and Security. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Role Context and Responsibilities

As an Associate, you will contribute to client engagements by breaking down complex problems into manageable tasks, identifying key issues, and directing the focus of junior consultants. You will be responsible for planning and executing analyses, crafting recommendations based on core issues identified, and working collaboratively with clients and project teams to advance projects. A key aspect of this role involves managing small teams to ensure efficient task completion and leading the team through a structured problem-solving process, from initial ideation to solution convergence. You will ensure that recommendations are practical, relevant, and cohesive.

Thought Leadership and Client Engagement

This role requires providing unique insights into chosen subject areas and demonstrating thought leadership at a strategic level, while also commanding a strong understanding of the technical and operational details of execution. You will be expected to present findings and recommendations to senior executives, both internally and externally.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or a similar organization.
• In-depth knowledge of topics within the Government and Public Institution sector, with a particular emphasis on Defense and Security.
• A strong background in strategic problem-solving with demonstrable analytical skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams and clients, delivering against tight deadlines in demanding environments.
• An undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program.

Required Skills and Aptitude

• Outstanding communication skills, with comfort in presenting to senior executives.
• Aptitude for analytical work, including identifying key issues in complex challenges and analyzing large datasets.
• The initiative to seek out opportunities for learning new skills and applying existing ones effectively.
• Willingness to travel as required by project needs.
