Business Development Engineer

About the Role

MAN ENERGY is seeking a Business Development Engineer to identify and develop project opportunities across Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage, data centers, and irrigation pumping systems. The position requires a combination of technical understanding and hands-on business development skills to convert qualified opportunities into awarded projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities for solar PV projects, battery energy storage systems (BESS), data center projects with related power infrastructure, and irrigation water pumping projects, including solar-powered pumping solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with project owners, developers, EPC contractors, consultants, industrial clients, agricultural operators, and relevant partners throughout Saudi Arabia.
• Understand client requirements, project scope, budgets, procurement processes, and decision-making structures; arrange client meetings and site visits.
• Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams to develop technical solutions, feasibility inputs, proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
• Manage the business development cycle from lead generation and opportunity qualification through presentations, commercial negotiations, contract closure, and handover to project delivery teams.
• Track market developments, upcoming projects, and competitors; maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline and provide regular progress forecasts.

Required Capabilities and Experience

• Demonstrable experience developing projects in the Saudi market, with the capability to pursue opportunities across solar PV, energy storage, data centers, and irrigation pumping.
• A record of personally identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, preparing or coordinating proposals, and advancing projects toward contract award.
• Established relationships with relevant clients, consultants, contractors, or project partners in Saudi Arabia.
• An engineering background or equivalent practical technical experience, with the ability to understand client needs and explain technical and commercial solutions clearly.

Work Environment and Location

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires willingness to travel within Saudi Arabia for client meetings, site visits, and project development activities.
