About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, * is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join their team in Riyadh, covering the cities of Ad Dir'iyah and Riyadh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and reports directly to the property General Manager, with a functional reporting relationship to the Regional Senior Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources will be an integral member of the property executive committee, contributing extensive human resource generalist knowledge and expertise to the designated property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and follow up on engagement survey-related activities.
  • Champion and build talent management ranks in support of property and region diversity strategy.
  • Translate business priorities into property Human Resources strategies, plans, and actions.
  • Implement and sustain Human Resources initiatives at the property.
  • Coordinate the human capital review process and lead succession planning activities on property and in the market.
  • Lead the assessment of property leadership pipeline through the human capital review process and assist with follow-up.
  • Create value through proactive approaches that affect performance outcomes or control costs.
  • Monitor the effective use of myHR by property managers and employees.
  • Lead and participate in succession management and workforce planning.
  • Serve as a key change manager for initiatives with high employee impact.
  • Attend owners' meetings as a member of the property executive committee, providing context to HR results and demonstrating an understanding of owner priorities.
  • Supervise on-property Human Resources staff and market-based Human Resources Specialist resources as appropriate.

Staffing and Recruitment Management

  • Analyze open positions to balance existing talent development and business needs.
  • Serve as a coach and expert facilitator for the selection and interviewing process.
  • Identify opportunities in work processes and staffing optimization.
  • Make staffing decisions to manage the talent cadre and pipeline at the property.
  • Develop staffing strategy in collaboration with hiring managers, consulting on compensation and benefits.
  • Monitor sourcing process and outcomes of staffing.
  • Ensure managers are competent in assessing and evaluating hourly staff.

Employee Compensation Strategy

  • Maintain current knowledge of internal and external compensation and competitive work environments.
  • Lead the planning of the hourly employee total compensation strategy.
  • Champion the communication and proper use of total compensation systems, tools, programs, and policies.
  • Participate in quarterly internal equity analysis, reviewing reports and addressing issues.
  • Create and implement total compensation management packages/offers, including recognition and incentive programs aligned with property priorities.

Staff Development Activities

  • Ensure completion of duties and responsibilities for property Human Resources staff members.
  • Ensure property Human Resources staff are properly trained in all employee-related human resource information.
  • Serve as a resource to property Human Resources staff on employee relations questions and issues.
  • Continually reinforce positive employee relations concepts.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Demonstrated expertise in talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management, and employee development.
  • Ability to work with considerable independence, developing processes aligned with broader business objectives.
  • Proficiency in using technology efficiently for HR functions.
  • Strong coaching and development skills to influence and execute business objectives.
