Artelia Middle-East is seeking an Electrical Design Coordinator to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This contract position is central to managing and coordinating electrical design processes for significant infrastructure projects within the region.

Role Purpose

The Electrical Design Coordinator will oversee the full electrical design lifecycle, from initial technical assessment and concept development through to detailed design and IFC documentation. This role requires extensive coordination with various stakeholders, internal and remote design teams, and multiple engineering disciplines to ensure project objectives and technical standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate directly with stakeholders throughout the entire design process.
• Manage design reviews, technical workshops, value engineering sessions, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Serve as the interface point between the client and the remote design team.
• Coordinate design changes, technical clarifications, and document revisions across the project lifecycle.
• Monitor design schedules, deliverables, and engineering progress.
• Coordinate rehabilitation strategies for existing MV/LV electrical infrastructure, including substations, switchgear, transformers, RMUs, cables, protection systems, and associated equipment.
• Coordinate for asset condition assessment and site survey information to determine rehabilitation requirements and design constraints.
• Review and coordinate interfaces between electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, instrumentation & control, telecommunications, and architectural disciplines.
• Review technical specifications, equipment datasheets, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and cost estimates.

Required Experience and Background

• At least 10 years of experience in LV/MV Network design for critical infrastructures such as Airports, Power Plants, or Wastewater Treatment Plants.
• Experience in LV and MV Network rehabilitation projects.
• Experience in Brownfield Electrical projects.
• Mandatory experience working within engineering consultancies.
• Proven experience in projects within the GCC region, primarily in UAE and KSA.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in electrical calculations, equipment sizing, single-line diagrams, protection philosophies, cable routing, and grounding design.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical design across all project phases, from technical assessment and concept design through detailed design and IFC documentation.
• Familiarity with IEC and IEEE Standards, as well as SEC (Saudi Electrical Company) standards.
• Professional grade in the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is required.
