About the Role

Brkz is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves comprehensive responsibility for all accounting, audit, and financial reporting functions. The Financial Controller will establish robust financial processes, strengthen internal controls, and develop the finance team as the company undergoes rapid scaling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accruals, reconciliations, payroll accounting, and monthly closing.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial statements.
  • Prepare and review management reports, financial statements, and reporting packs for leadership, investors, banks, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the external audit process from end to end, including preparation of audit schedules, coordination with auditors, resolution of audit comments, and timely issuance of audited financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Saudi laws and requirements, including tax, zakat, VAT, withholding tax, e-invoicing, accounting standards, and regulatory filings.
  • Strengthen internal controls across finance, procurement, payments, collections, revenue recognition, inventory-related processes, and expense management.
  • Build scalable finance processes, policies, approval workflows, and reporting structures suitable for a high-growth startup environment.
  • Collaborate with business, operations, credit, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure financial data accuracy and proper reflection in accounts.
  • Monitor receivables, payables, collections, supplier payments, working capital, and cash reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis by providing reliable actuals and clear explanations of financial performance.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in systems, controls, and processes.
  • Build, manage, and develop the accounting and finance operations team as the company scales.
  • Support ERP, accounting system, and finance automation initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Saudi accounting, tax, zakat, VAT, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in fast-paced companies is required.
  • Startup experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience in construction, contracting, building materials, or marketplace businesses is an advantage.
