The Role: Senior / Assistant Manager, Transfer Pricing

Grant Thornton Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior / Assistant Manager of Transfer Pricing to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, client-facing role involves supporting and managing transfer pricing engagements for Saudi and multinational clients. The scope of work includes compliance, documentation, advisory services, benchmarking, and ZATCA-related matters. The position is suitable for an experienced transfer pricing professional with 2-5 years of experience looking to develop technical expertise and manage client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Master Files, Local Files, Controlled Transactions Disclosure Forms, Country-by-Country Reporting notifications, and other transfer pricing documentation.
• Conduct functional, asset, and risk analyses; prepare economic and benchmarking studies for related-party transactions.
• Apply appropriate transfer pricing methods in accordance with Saudi Transfer Pricing Bylaws, ZATCA guidelines, and OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines.
• Support clients in developing, documenting, and implementing transfer pricing policies for domestic and cross-border related-party transactions.
• Advise on transfer pricing matters related to management and technical services, financing arrangements, intellectual property, distribution, manufacturing, and other intercompany transactions.
• Review intercompany agreements and assess their consistency with relevant transfer pricing policies and the actual conduct of the parties.
• Identify transfer pricing risks and recommend practical measures to improve compliance and manage potential exposure.
• Support transfer pricing aspects of business restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, group reorganizations, and cross-border transactions.
• Assist with ZATCA transfer pricing audits, information requests, assessments, objections, appeals, and dispute-resolution matters.
• Prepare technical responses, advisory memoranda, reports, correspondence, and client presentations.
• Monitor Saudi and international transfer pricing developments and communicate their implications to clients and internal teams.
• Act as the day-to-day contact for assigned engagements, ensuring timely communication and high-quality service delivery.
• Manage multiple engagements, coordinate project timelines, and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Support business-development activities, including proposals, presentations, client meetings, and thought-leadership materials.
• Supervise, coach, and review the work of junior team members.
• Collaborate with Direct Tax, Zakat, VAT, International Tax, Transaction Advisory, Audit, and Legal teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Ensure compliance with the firm’s quality, ethical, independence, and risk-management requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
• A relevant professional qualification such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT, CFA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Three to six years of relevant experience in transfer pricing, depending on the level of appointment.
• Practical experience in Saudi Arabian transfer pricing regulations and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
• Previous experience with a Big Four or international professional services firm is highly desirable.
• Experience in preparing transfer pricing documentation, conducting benchmarking studies, and analyzing related-party transactions.
• Experience supporting ZATCA transfer pricing audits or disputes is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet demanding deadlines.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Saudi Transfer Pricing Bylaws, ZATCA requirements, and OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines.
• Good understanding of Saudi Corporate Income Tax and Zakat and their interaction with transfer pricing requirements.
• Strong financial, economic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using recognized transfer pricing databases and research tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language capability is highly desirable.
• Ability to professionally prepare technical reports, transfer pricing documentation, correspondence, and presentations.
• Confidence in dealing with clients, internal stakeholders, and ZATCA representatives.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong project-management, teamwork, and client-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
