About the Role at SLB

SLB is seeking a Well Site Leader to manage and execute well operations in Dhahran, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a seasoned professional to provide comprehensive leadership in operational planning, execution, and safety management at the well site.

Leadership and Operational Oversight

The Well Site Leader is primarily responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision, and execution of the well operations program. A critical aspect of this role involves providing clear leadership in every aspect of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protection, ensuring that safe working practices are consistently used at the well site. The incumbent ensures that all well operations are conducted safely, in accordance with the approved program, and in compliance with applicable policies, standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while managing allocated time and costs with optimal resource utilization.

Core Operational Responsibilities

  • Organize and lead brief and debrief safety and operations meetings related to well operations.
  • Lead daily planning meetings and discuss operations with customer representatives, contractors, Product Line (PL), and third-party supervisors.
  • Update forecast and planned activity to anticipate resource requirements, meet well demands, and provide optimum service efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed procedures for specific critical operations, such as running casing and cementing, and develop associated contingency plans.
  • Prepare technical and operational calculations relevant to well or rig-site operations, for example, cement volume.
  • Participate in operational performance improvements and program changes with the project team.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Ensure that operations are conducted to prevent risks of well control, stuck pipe, and any other project and operational risks.
  • Monitor well operational risks, implement risk responses, and execute change control per the project risk management plan and well operational programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Schlumberger policies and Integration PL standards, including standing orders.
  • Review operational problems and support job incidents, changes, incident response, and recovery, including coordination with individual PLs and key contractors.

Logistics and Financial Administration

  • Check that equipment and services comply with the contract.
  • Manage proper inventory of tangibles, such as cement, barite, and bits, as well as rental equipment, and coordinate with PL Operations and third-party suppliers as needed.
  • Prepare daily cost estimates based on goods consumed and services provided.
  • Review and approve invoices and reports on services performed and materials used.
  • Manage and monitor operations communications with the goal of ensuring that stakeholders are kept informed and service providers have the information needed to perform their services.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in well operations or a closely related field is required for this role.
