General Physician Internal Medicine

About the Role

Fakeeh Care Group is seeking a General Physician specializing in Internal Medicine to join their team in Medina. This full-time position requires 0-1 years of experience and involves providing comprehensive medical care to patients across various wards, including internal medicine, and potentially surgical, obstetrics and gynecology, or pediatric wards as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Interview and evaluate patients, taking thorough medical histories and performing physical exams.
• Document findings and relevant clinical information in patient medical records.
• Notify attending physicians about admitted inpatients and discuss clinical conditions and management plans.
• Conduct daily rounds for inpatients, documenting assessments and care plans.
• Cover on-call rotations as per departmental schedules.
• Respond to patient medical complaints, evaluate, and manage patients with specialist assistance.
• Document clinical justifications for diagnostic tests and management steps, ensuring compliance with Fakeeh Care policies and insurance standards.
• Complete handover procedures at the end of duty shifts, including pending tasks.
• Coordinate care with various healthcare team disciplines, including nurses, consultants, and support departments.
• Accurately complete all required forms in patient medical records, including transfer forms.
• Prepare discharge summaries and discuss instructions and take-home medications with discharged patients.
• Attend departmental meetings and participate in projects and activities.
• Participate in quality and patient safety activities.
• Report unresolved patient-related medical problems to attending physicians or department chairpersons.
• Engage in continuous medical education activities to meet regulatory requirements.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the department chair, in compliance with assigned privileges.

Additional Duties by Ward Assignment

• Surgical Wards: Conduct preoperative assessments, assist in surgeries, and manage postoperative care under supervision.
• Obstetrics and Gynecology Wards: Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care, including prenatal visits, labor and delivery assistance, and postpartum care under supervision.
• Pediatric Wards: Provide medical care to pediatric inpatients, attend labor and delivery for neonatal care, and stabilize critically ill pediatric patients in emergencies under supervision.

Qualifications and Experience

• Medical degree with specialization in Internal Medicine.
• 0-1 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to take accurate medical histories and perform physical examinations.
• Proficiency in documenting clinical information and care plans.
• Strong communication and coordination skills within a healthcare team.
• Commitment to continuous medical education and patient safety.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Madinah, Medina, within the Fakeeh Care Group facilities. The role involves working across various hospital wards and participating in a departmental call rota.
