General Physician Internal Medicine

About the Role

Fakeeh Care Group is seeking a General Physician specializing in Internal Medicine to join their team in Medina, Al Madinah. This full-time position involves assisting the Medical Responsible Physician (MRP) and treating teams in implementing patient management plans and ensuring timely, accurate documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), adhering to Fakeeh Care policies and procedures. The role requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Interview and evaluate patients during duty hours, taking thorough medical, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional histories, and performing physical exams. Document findings and clinical information in the patient's medical record.
• Notify the attending physician about admitted inpatients, discussing clinical conditions and any details requiring further management, and clarifying work-up and treatment plans.
• Conduct daily rounds for all inpatients in assigned wards, documenting findings, assessments, and care plans in progress notes.
• Cover call rota as first on call according to departmental schedules.
• Respond immediately to patient medical complaints, evaluate and manage patients with assistance from specialists or consultants, and document findings and care plans.
• Document indications and clinical justifications for all requested advanced diagnostic tests (*, CT, MRI, U/S) and management steps, ensuring compliance with Fakeeh Care policies and insurance company standards, including accurate ICD choices.
• Complete handover at the end of duty shifts for all inpatients, including pending medical diagnostic and therapeutic tasks.
• Coordinate between patients and all healthcare team disciplines involved in care provision, including nurses, consultants, dietitians, social workers, laboratory and radiology departments, and insurance company doctors.
• Accurately complete all required forms in the patient's medical record, as defined by Fakeeh Care policies, including medical transfer forms.
• Properly complete discharge summaries for inpatients and discuss discharge instructions and take-home medications with discharged patients.
• Attend all departmental meetings and actively participate in departmental projects and activities.
• Participate in all quality and patient safety activities within the Fakeeh Health Care facility.
• Act as an active member of the Fakeeh Health Care facility, contributing to efforts that facilitate safe and smooth patient care.
• Report any unresolved medical patient-related problems to the attending physician and/or chairpersons of medical departments.
• Participate in continuous medical education activities and earn CME hours as required by the regional health regulatory authority.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Chair of the involved department, in full compliance with assigned privileges.

Additional Duties by Ward Assignment

When assigned to Surgical wards:

• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and assist in more complex surgeries under the supervision of senior surgeons.
• Manage postoperative care, including monitoring recovery, prescribing medication, and providing follow-up care under supervision.
• Coordinate with surgical teams to ensure effective patient care before, during, and after surgery.

When assigned to Obstetrics and Gynecology wards:

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care under the supervision of the MRP, including regular exams, prenatal visits, labor and delivery assistance, and postpartum care.

When assigned to Pediatric wards:

• Provide medical care to pediatric inpatients, including newborns, infants, children, and adolescents, under the supervision of senior pediatricians.
• Attend labor and delivery to provide immediate neonatal care, including initial assessments, resuscitation (if necessary), and stabilization of newborns.
• Stabilize critically ill or injured pediatric patients in emergency situations and work as part of a team to provide rapid interventions.
