About the Role
Jayasom Wellness Resort Amaala, opening in 2025 in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Director of People and Capabilities. This role is integral to establishing a pioneering team for a unique wellness destination focused on holistic health, integrative medicine, and soulful care. The resort, located near Tabuk and Umluj, will offer tailored wellness journeys and aims to redefine the future of life and wellness. This is a full-time position requiring over 10 years of experience.
Job Purpose
The Director of People and Capabilities will translate Jayasom's strategy into actionable People and Capabilities (PEC) programs, structures, and operational policies. This leadership role involves developing and implementing a PEC function aligned with the company's mission and purpose. A key aspect is building and maintaining positive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for the company's wellness and sustainability culture by leading by example and developing relevant team programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the People & Capabilities department, overseeing talent acquisition and management, learning and development, engagement, compensation and benefits, people development, and succession planning.
- Manage the PEC critical path during the resort's opening phase, ensuring timely completion of tasks and a seamless launch.
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance of PEC policies and procedures with corporate regulations and local labor laws.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local labor laws and industry trends, ensuring resort compliance.
- Oversee the department's annual budget planning and management.
- Provide guidance to department heads on all people-related matters, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, mediation, coaching, and development programs.
- Continuously evaluate and improve PEC policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives for maximum efficiency.
- Conduct competitor industry surveys to inform benefit offerings and provide recommendations.
- Prepare annual PEC plans, including benefits, recruitment, and training strategies.
- Ensure diligent preparation and submission of monthly and yearly PEC reports to the corporate office.
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of the HR Information system.
- Oversee the Performance Management program, including training for team members and People Leaders on processes like Power Discussions and performance reviews.
- Guide People Leaders in fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies, ensuring timely and professional candidate assessment and selection.
- Maintain strong relationships with selected candidates and guide them through work authorization processes.
- Ensure new hires receive a warm welcome and appropriate integration programs.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify pre-opening and ongoing training needs, developing and implementing relevant programs.
- Ensure learning and development materials are engaging, relevant, and culturally appropriate.
- Develop industry networks and establish partnerships with educational institutions to support talent acquisition and development goals.
- Ensure adherence to resort guidelines and service standards by all outsourcing service providers in relation to people services.
Qualifications and Experience
- BSc/BA in Human Resources or Psychology is preferred.
- Pre-opening experience is required.
- Proven experience in human resources and people management within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
- More than 10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Work Environment
This is a full-time position at Jayasom Wellness Resort Amaala, located in the Tabuk region of Saudi Arabia, with proximity to Tabuk and Umluj. The role involves contributing to a purpose-driven hospitality environment rooted in holistic health and conscious living.
