Audit Specialist ( Operational/Corporate )

About the Role

SGS - Saudi Ground Services is seeking an Audit Specialist to lead professional auditors in conducting financial, operational, and procedural audits across its operations. This full-time position is based in Makkah, with activities spanning Jeddah and Makkah. The role is critical in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, reliability of financial reporting, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and safeguarding of assets.

Role Purpose and Contribution

The Audit Specialist will add value and improve SGS’s operations by implementing a systematic and disciplined approach to risk management, control, and governance processes. This involves ensuring that all audit activities contribute directly to achieving SGS’s business objectives and maintaining high standards of operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure timely completion of all audits, reviewing audit program steps and documentation.
• Verify that organizational activities comply with SGS policies, procedures, and government legislation.
• Execute regular audit activities in line with the approved audit plan.
• Conduct checks to ensure effective use of company resources in compliance with approved policies.
• Develop comprehensive and detailed audit programs for assigned engagements.
• Execute specific audit engagements within specified timeframes.
• Obtain and review evidence, ensuring audit conclusions are well-documented and based on a complete understanding of processes and risks.
• Prepare detailed, cross-referenced work papers in compliance with professional internal audit practices.
• Present audit findings to management, discussing deficiencies and recommending corrective actions.
• Prepare audit reports and agree on action plans and timelines with line managers.
• Supervise and provide guidance to auditors assigned to engagements, reviewing deliverables and evaluating performance.
• Train and develop new audit employees.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable professional standards and stay updated on auditing methodologies and technologies.
• Conduct follow-up on audit recommendations to ensure proper implementation and resolution of issues.
• Share knowledge within the Internal Audit team regarding findings, control gaps, and lessons learned.
• Lead investigations as needed on reported cases to Internal Audit.
• Perform other related functions as directed by the Internal Audit manager or director.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in auditing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead audit teams and manage audit engagements effectively.
• Strong understanding of financial, operational, and procedural auditing principles.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and professional auditing standards.
