About the Role

Ericsson is seeking a motivated Automated Operations Engineer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on supporting operational activities within telecom and IT domains, contributing to alarm monitoring, incident handling, reporting, and automation initiatives. The role offers hands-on experience in managed services operations, service assurance, and operational excellence within a technology-driven environment, ideal for those looking to build a career in telecom operations, automation, and AI-driven managed services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor alarms and handle incidents across telecom and IT environments.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting, analyze events, and escalate incidents according to defined procedures.
  • Assist with operational reporting, data analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Support automation initiatives, including the use and maintenance of scripts, dashboards, and workflow tools.
  • Coordinate with operational teams to ensure timely incident and service request resolution.
  • Contribute to service assurance activities and ensure adherence to operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and automation enhancements.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of operational documentation and knowledge articles.
  • Participate in shift-based operations to ensure service continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and gain exposure to telecom network technologies and managed services.
  • Participate in training related to telecom operations, automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Support the implementation of AI-driven operational improvements and modern service management practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications RAN/MW, networking, IT systems, or automation concepts.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing telecom networks or IT operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to troubleshooting.
  • Interest in telecom operations, automation technologies, scripting, and AI-driven solutions.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multicultural environments.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and operational processes.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages, databases, or automation tools is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of incident management, monitoring tools, or managed services concepts is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a shift-based operational environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated mindset with a strong desire to develop technical and operational expertise.
