About the Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking a Director of Finance (Dir Finance A) to join its team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position will serve as the property's strategic financial business leader, responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies to meet or exceed brand and customer expectations, while maximizing return on investment. The role requires a proactive approach to financial management and business planning, aligning with the property and brand's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Finance will be instrumental in driving profitability and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing strategies to improve profit, including cost-benefit analysis and exploring new business opportunities.
• Analyzing financial information, forecasting sales against expenses, and creating annual budget plans.
• Monitoring actual sales against projected sales and analyzing variances.
• Identifying cost-saving and productivity opportunities through analytical support during budget reviews.
• Implementing and ensuring a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets and improve profitability.
• Leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategy.
• Producing accurate forecasts to enable operational adjustments based on business changes.
• Overseeing internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
• Managing communication with owners and advising the General Manager and executive committee on financial matters.
• Ensuring accurate documentation of profits and losses, and timely submission of reports.
• Monitoring the purchasing process and ensuring compliance with management contracts and operating procedures.
• Developing appropriate plans for team member development based on individual strengths and career aspirations.

Leadership and Team Management

This role requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence and guide teams. Responsibilities include:

• Leading, influencing, and encouraging others through effective communication and by advocating sound financial and business decision-making.
• Communicating strategic goals and priorities clearly to subordinates.
• Leveraging functional leadership to influence the executive team and property strategies.
• Assigning clear accountability and appropriate authority to team members and department managers.
• Conducting annual performance appraisals for direct reports.
• Ensuring team members are cross-trained to support daily operations and participate in orientation and training programs.

Stakeholder Engagement

The Director of Finance will be responsible for understanding and meeting the needs of key stakeholders, including owners and corporate management. This involves:

• Attending meetings and communicating with owners to understand their priorities and strategic focus.
• Advising the General Manager and executive committee on operating and financial issues.
• Communicating financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner.
• Managing property working capital and cash flow in accordance with brand standards and owner requirements.
• Facilitating critique meetings with the management team to review financial information.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should meet the following educational and experience requirements:

• A 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 3 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
• OR a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 1 year of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.

Location and Work Type

This full-time position is based in Makkah, with responsibilities potentially extending to Jeddah. The role operates within The Luxury Collection brand.
