About the Role

YO IT Consulting is seeking an English Language Expert for a contract role. In this hourly, remote position, you will review AI-generated English language responses and generate expert language content. Your work will involve evaluating reasoning quality, performing step-by-step edits, and providing precise, actionable feedback to improve AI models. This role is with a fast-growing AI Data Services company that provides training data for major AI companies and foundation-model labs. Your expertise will directly contribute to making AI outputs more accurate, natural, and clearly explained.

Please note that there is no immediate project for this role. However, qualified candidates will be among the first contacted when relevant opportunities arise and will gain access to future projects through our expert network.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed prompts and responses on various topics to guide AI learning, ensuring comprehensive understanding across diverse subjects.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to enhance model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
• Test AI models for potential inaccuracies or biases, validating their reliability across different use cases.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Expert command of the English language (C2/Native-level preferred), with a minimum C1 proficiency required.
• Multilingual ability, with professional proficiency in at least one additional language, is strongly preferred.
• Strong skills in grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse structure, and stylistic editing across various registers.
• Exceptional attention to detail for identifying meaning drift, ambiguity, inconsistencies, and subtle errors, with the ability to clearly explain corrections in writing.
• Comfort in applying style guides and enforcing consistency in tone, terminology, punctuation, and capitalization across varied content types.
• Previous experience with AI data training/annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience using tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar platforms.

Work Environment and Expectations

This is a contract, hourly, remote position. Candidates must be reliable and self-directed, capable of delivering consistent quality within a remote contractor workflow across different time zones.
