About the Ophthalmic Technician Role

Al Salama Hospital is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join its dedicated Ophthalmology/Surgery team. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on supporting ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality patient care.

Role Purpose and Contribution

The Ophthalmic Technician plays a critical role in assisting with patient screening and diagnostic testing. The primary objective is to ensure accurate and patient-centric eye care, adhering strictly to both hospital standards and relevant regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Screen patients by accurately measuring visual acuity, checking intraocular pressure (IOP), and administering eye drops for dilation as required.
• Perform a comprehensive range of diagnostic tests, including A/B scan, fundus photography, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), visual field testing, Fluorescein Angiography (FFA), and Pentacam examinations.
• Accurately enter all patient demographic and diagnostic data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Ensure strict compliance with data confidentiality protocols and established documentation standards.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Ophthalmic Technician position should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience in an ophthalmic setting.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time role within the Ophthalmology/Surgery department of Al Salama Hospital. The position is located in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
