Job Summary:
Responsible for collecting a variety of specimen samples as well as label the blood vials, in a home set-up. Scope includes bringing all blood and specimen samples to the laboratory.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Identifies correct patient of all ages by requesting the patient (guardian) to state his/her full name and comparing with the requisition details.
• Consistently withdraws blood properly using established laboratory procedures (* proper patient identification, proper tube selection, etc.).
• Verifies and collects proper samples required for specific tests. Accurately label specimens and records on all laboratory requisitions forms.
• Properly instructs patients of all ages, the correct way to collect urine specimens.
• Correctly processes all laboratory requisitions and specimens for routine and reference tests.
• Maintains an adequate supply of specimen collection equipment.
• Greets patients in courteous manner, responding with empathy and establishing good rapport with all co-workers.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Medical Technology.
• Minimum of 2 years in phlebotomy or related area.
• Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) license.
