Role Summary

The Audio Visual Supervisor is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of all audio-visual equipment and systems for events and within the property. This full-time role involves ensuring equipment functionality, troubleshooting issues, and providing support to guests. The supervisor will also assist management with team development and ensure adherence to company standards and procedures. The position requires 2-5 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify AV equipment inventory before events and ensure all necessary items are available.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot all AV equipment, devices, and systems.
• Ensure equipment is fully operational, performing repairs and cleaning as needed.
• Manage cabling by taping down and dressing loose wires.
• Label and report broken equipment.
• Cross-reference delivered equipment and room setups with Banquet Event Orders.
• Communicate any additions or deletions to flowsheets.
• Break down, remove, and secure equipment after events.
• Set up and maintain the property’s portable audio system and operate the house audio system.
• Assist and instruct guests on the proper usage and operation of AV equipment.
• Upsell AV services to guests.
• Monitor equipment operation during events.
• Adhere to the Marriott Visual Productions (MVP program) SOP book.
• Assist management in hiring, training, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Serve as a role model and initial point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
• Follow company policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a professional appearance and ensure confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Welcome guests according to company standards and address service needs.
• Communicate professionally and prepare accurate written documents.
• Develop positive working relationships and support team goals.
• Identify and implement ways to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Utilize computers/POS systems for information entry and retrieval.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in audio-visual equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read, understand, and adhere to standard operating procedures.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining portable and house audio systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for guest interaction and team collaboration.
• Capability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects.
• Competence in using computer and POS systems.
• Commitment to following safety training and certifications.
