About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Food & Beverage to lead the culinary and beverage operations in Medina. This full-time position requires a strategic business leader to oversee all aspects of food and beverage, including restaurants, bars, room service, and banquets, ensuring alignment with brand standards and financial objectives.

Operational Leadership and Strategy

This role functions as the strategic business leader for the property’s food and beverage and culinary operations. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing departmental strategies, ensuring the brand's service strategy and initiatives are executed effectively. The focus is on meeting the needs of the target customer, enhancing employee satisfaction, and driving revenue growth to maximize the financial performance of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain departmental goals, holding the food and beverage leadership team accountable for service behaviors.
  • Review financial reports to assess performance against budget and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Make recommendations for capital expenditures on food and beverage equipment and renovations.
  • Develop and manage the Food and Beverage budget, monitoring sales to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure cash control and liquor control policies are implemented and followed.
  • Lead the food and beverage team by fostering trust, cooperation, and sound financial decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to increase profits and create value through innovation and process improvement.
  • Ensure regular communication occurs across all food and beverage areas, including pre-meal briefings and staff meetings.
  • Develop and execute a food and beverage operating strategy aligned with the brand's business strategy.
  • Identify developmental needs of staff and provide coaching and mentorship.
  • Stay aware of market trends and introduce new products to meet customer expectations and maintain a competitive position.
  • Provide services that exceed customer expectations to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Empower employees to deliver excellent guest service and take corrective action based on guest feedback.
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Coach and support the food & beverage leadership team in managing expenses.
  • Hire food & beverage leadership team members who demonstrate strong functional expertise and leadership.
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
  • Inform and update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to solve problems effectively.
  • Estimate consumption of food, liquor, and beverages for purchasing.
  • Order and purchase equipment and supplies.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience in food and beverage management. A proven track record in strategic leadership, financial management, and team development within the hospitality industry is essential.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Medina, Saudi Arabia, at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts. The role involves leading a dynamic team within a hospitality setting.
