About Saudi Aramco and the Role

Saudi Aramco, a global leader in hydrocarbon energy and chemicals, is headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The company is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join the Unconventional Resources Department, specifically within the UR Design Services & Engineering Support Division (URDSESD). This full-time role is critical for the engineering, procurement, and construction of major Unconventional Gas facilities across the Kingdom.

Role Overview and Scope

The primary responsibility of the Electrical Project Engineer is to oversee the Electrical Engineering Design Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Detailed Design, and construction activities for Unconventional Resources projects. This involves a comprehensive review of various design packages, close coordination with Aramco’s internal stakeholders, and providing essential technical support throughout the construction phases of these facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify and direct FEED/Detail Design packages, applying electrical engineering knowledge and experience in the Oil and Gas sector.
• Apply expertise in ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Program) and general electrical system studies, calculations, electrical area classification, and plant layouts for power, lighting, grounding, and substations (480V up to 115/230kV), including substation automation.
• Utilize experience in electrical equipment specification and data sheets for components such as transformers, switchgears, motor control centers, UPS, DC power systems, and motors.
• Review technical bid evaluations, recommendations, vendor documents, and engineering deliverables.
• Review and direct design for Overhead Transmission lines with voltage ratings of ***, ***, 115kV, and 230kV.
• Apply relevant experience in Oil and Gas Project Management Engineering and EPC phases (engineering, material procurement, construction management of hydrocarbon facilities), with an emphasis on construction.
• Support projects specifically within the Jafurah Field.
• Review and approve all vendor documents and drawings, ensuring timely review of all engineering deliverables.
• Interact with other discipline members to resolve installation issues during the installation phase.
• Coordinate activities and resolve issues among contractors and other parties to ensure construction progress and achieve final mechanical completion.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical project engineering, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of ETAP and comprehensive electrical system studies.
• Proficiency in electrical equipment specification and data sheet development.
• Experience with Overhead Transmission line design and EPC project phases.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Willingness to mentor and motivate junior Saudi Engineers.
