About the Executive Housekeeper Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Executive Housekeeper I to oversee daily shift operations for Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry services in Medina, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and plays a crucial role in ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while managing operational budgets.

Key Responsibilities in Housekeeping Management

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the efficient daily operations of the housekeeping department. This includes:

• Ensuring timely and efficient communication of guest room status to the Front Desk.
• Collaborating with the Engineering department to address guest room maintenance needs.
• Supervising the property's general cleaning schedule.
• Assigning work based on lists of rooms to be cleaned and anticipated check-outs.
• Monitoring and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and linens.
• Overseeing daily shift operations and ensuring adherence to all housekeeping policies and procedures.
• Assisting with the procurement of guestroom supplies, cleaning materials, and uniforms.
• Implementing and supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public areas.
• Communicating areas requiring attention to staff and ensuring understanding and follow-up.
• Ensuring all employees are equipped with the proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.

Departmental Cost Management

This role involves active participation in managing the department's controllable expenses to meet or exceed budgeted financial goals. The Executive Housekeeper must understand the impact of departmental operations on the property's overall financial objectives and manage resources accordingly. Comprehension of budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports is necessary for effective financial management.

Ensuring Exceptional Guest Service

A key aspect of this position is ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. This includes responding to and resolving guest issues and complaints, actively striving to improve service performance, and empowering employees to deliver excellent customer service. Emphasis will be placed on guest satisfaction and continuous improvement during all departmental meetings.

Human Resources and Team Management

The Executive Housekeeper will supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives. This includes ensuring employees understand expectations and parameters, and that property policies are administered fairly and consistently. The role involves participating in accident investigations, observing employee service behaviors and providing feedback, and supporting employee training and development. Participation in employee performance appraisals, interviewing, hiring, and progressive discipline procedures is also required.
