About the Role

Hire Fellows is seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to join the production team of a fast-growing company. This full-time role is critical for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of the facility’s equipment and infrastructure, with a particular focus on refrigeration and HVAC systems essential for daily production. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee equipment installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and breakdown response across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead a team of technicians, manage external contractors, and ensure critical systems remain operational and compliant. Responsibilities include:

• Leading the installation, commissioning, and handover of new or upgraded kitchen and production equipment.
• Overseeing and prioritizing the work of the facility’s maintenance and technician team.
• Developing and managing preventive maintenance schedules across production, refrigeration, HVAC, and facility equipment.
• Responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and coordinating repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, service histories, and inspection documentation.
• Ensuring refrigeration and cold-storage systems consistently support required cold-chain and food-safety standards.
• Working closely with the Quality team on equipment issues that may have food-safety or product-quality implications.
• Managing the facility’s maintenance budget and monitoring spending against planned requirements.
• Maintaining an accurate asset register and planning equipment replacement and capital expenditure ahead of end-of-life.
• Building and managing a reliable network of qualified contractors and specialist maintenance vendors.
• Negotiating and managing service agreements, SLAs, callout requirements, and response times with external providers.
• Leading root-cause investigations into recurring equipment failures and implementing long-term engineering or process improvements.
• Ensuring mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and facility systems meet required safety and regulatory standards.
• Keeping all required equipment certifications, inspections, and compliance records up to date.
• Identifying potential equipment and infrastructure risks and proactively addressing them before they affect production.
• Working closely with production and kitchen leadership to ensure maintenance activities are planned with minimal operational disruption.
• Maintaining a safe, organized, and reliable working environment across the facility.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a strong background in maintenance supervision within a production environment.

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant maintenance role.
• Proven ability to manage and lead a team of technicians.
• Demonstrated expertise in refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of safety and regulatory compliance for mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within a fast-growing company operating across multiple markets. The role requires a hands-on approach and direct involvement in facility operations to ensure continuous production and operational efficiency.
