About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Medina is seeking an Occupational Health Safety Officer. This full-time role involves coordinating health and safety systems, identifying hazards, and assessing risks to ensure a safe working environment. The officer will implement appropriate safety controls and provide expert advice on accident prevention and occupational health to management and employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote occupational health and safety within the organization and develop safer working practices.
• Inspect workplaces and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify potential hazards.
• Ensure that workplaces adhere to organizational procedures and safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to maintain worksite and work practice safety.
• Oversee the correct storage of dangerous materials to prevent occupational hazards.
• Identify and test work areas for potential accident and health hazards, such as toxic fumes and explosive gas-air mixtures, and implement control measures.
• Ensure organizational awareness and compliance with all relevant legislation concerning duty of care, workplace activities, and the use of plant, equipment, and substances.
• Record and report hazards, accidents, injuries, and health issues within the workplace.
• Assist in investigating accidents and unsafe working conditions, studying causes, and recommending remedial actions.
• Conduct training sessions for management, supervisors, and workers on health and safety practices and legislation.
• Support the rehabilitation of workers after accidents or injuries, facilitating a satisfactory return to work.
• Coordinate emergency procedures, including Confined Space rescues, firefighting, and first aid crews.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety. The role requires a strong understanding of safety regulations and the ability to implement effective control measures.
