About the Role

Fengkai Group Co., Limited is seeking a qualified individual for a part-time, remote PhD Peer Review position in Oceanography. This is a long-term, stable opportunity for experienced academics.

Role Overview

The primary function of this role is to provide expert peer review for academic manuscripts submitted to journals. Reviewers will critically evaluate submitted work to ensure its scientific rigor, originality, and contribution to the field of Oceanography. This position supports remote work and requires a commitment to objectivity and timely feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the originality and novelty of submitted manuscripts, determining their contribution to the field.
• Evaluate the appropriateness, comprehensiveness, and clarity of the study design and methodologies employed, ensuring reproducibility.
• Verify that the manuscript thoroughly incorporates and cites relevant, up-to-date research.
• Analyze the presentation of results and conclusions, ensuring they are clearly stated and supported by the data.
• Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback to authors and editors, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and potential ethical concerns.
• Make recommendations regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection based on the evaluation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in Oceanography or a related field.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant academic experience.
• Demonstrated publication record, with at least 5 papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable.
