Safety Officer

About the Role

Le Meridien is seeking a Safety Officer to join their team. This full-time position involves ensuring the safety and security of the property, guests, and employees. The role requires 0-1 years of experience and focuses on maintaining a secure environment through proactive measures and incident response.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access.
• Monitor security systems including Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems.
• Lock property entrances as required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections.
• Respond to accidents, administer first aid/CPR, or contact emergency medical services as needed.
• Assist guests and employees during emergency situations and notify appropriate individuals of incidents.
• Defuse guest/employee disturbances and call for outside assistance if necessary.
• Complete incident reports for all Security/Loss Prevention related events.
• Resolve safety hazard situations and escort unwelcome persons from the property.
• Respond to vehicle accidents/thefts and complete Loss Prevention shift summaries/daily activity reports.
• Maintain confidentiality of all security reports and documents, releasing information only to authorized individuals.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties.

Operational Compliance and Guest Services

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure a clean and professional appearance and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing service needs.
• Assist individuals with disabilities and express genuine appreciation to guests.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, preparing accurate written documents.
• Develop positive working relationships and support team goals.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point-of-sale systems.
• Move at a speed required to respond to work situations (*, run, walk, jog).
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and objects exceeding 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, and over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to complete safety training and certifications.
• Some states may have additional licensing/registration requirements for this position.
