About the Role

Jobgether is seeking a Science Community Lead to be based in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is focused on building and nurturing a global community of scientists, researchers, and biotech enthusiasts within a decentralized science ecosystem. The role involves creating engaging online spaces for scientific collaboration and discussion, primarily across platforms like Discord.

Role Context and Purpose

This position blends community building, science communication, and event hosting. The primary objective is to foster meaningful connections between researchers and emerging voices in biotechnology. You will design and manage community programs that encourage participation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across disciplines such as longevity, brain health, and biotech innovation. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of science and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and grow online science communities, with a focus on Discord, including channel structure, onboarding, bots, and engagement systems.
• Host and facilitate community events such as AMAs, journal clubs, voice discussions, and live online sessions.
• Develop and execute community programming to encourage participation and highlight member research.
• Identify and connect researchers and scientists to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange.
• Moderate discussions to ensure a welcoming and inclusive community environment.
• Track engagement metrics and experiment with new initiatives to improve community health and participation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
• Strong familiarity with online communities, particularly Discord, Reddit, and/or X (Twitter).
• Prior moderation experience is preferred.
• Excellent written communication skills with an accessible and engaging tone.
• Comfort hosting live events, voice chats, and interactive community sessions.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
• A proactive mindset with a willingness to experiment and iterate on engagement strategies.
• A genuine interest in biotechnology, life sciences, and scientific research communities.
