Commissioning Mechanical Specialist (Rotating equipment)

About the Role

Shanahan Engineering is seeking a Commissioning Mechanical Specialist (Rotating equipment) for a large refinery commissioning project. This is a contract position located in Al Jubail, Eastern region, Saudi Arabia, requiring over 10 years of experience.

Role Purpose

The primary function of the Commissioning Rotating Specialist is to ensure that all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for rotating disciplines are prepared and executed according to the OPERCOM® methodology. This role emphasizes safety and adherence to the planned schedule for the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritizing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) in all activities.
• Coordinating and approving the quality and completeness of project deliverables.
• Assisting Commissioning Unit leaders in witnessing and monitoring pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Reviewing pre-commissioning dossiers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Ensuring the proper care and maintenance of equipment by the EPCC Contractor.
• Monitoring all rotating equipment commissioning activities.
• Reviewing and providing comments on operational test procedures.
• Liaising with other teams to facilitate a smooth transition from the commissioning to the start-up phase.

Qualifications and Experience

• Engineer level education or higher.
• Extensive knowledge of rotating equipment activities within a petrochemical site.
• Familiarity with EPCC contract management, OPERCOM®, and ICAPS®.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant fields.
• Broad experience covering both rotating equipment and HVAC systems.
