Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to significant engineering projects within a specialized industry context.
The Design Engineer Role
The Design Engineer will be responsible for the comprehensive design and engineering of critical industrial equipment. This role involves ensuring strict compliance with international standards and specific client requirements, contributing to the successful delivery of engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer pressure vessels, storage tanks, and heat exchangers in accordance with ASME, API, and TEMA standards.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco requirements and client-specific certifications.
- Perform mechanical calculations using industry-standard tools such as PV Elite, COMPRESS, or similar software.
- Manage and review design deliverables provided by outsourced engineering teams.
- Support bid evaluations, scope reviews, and client clarifications throughout project lifecycles.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for inspection and material compliance.
- Prepare detailed nozzle loadings, supports, weld designs, and assembly drawings.
- Provide fabrication support and resolve shop floor queries during the manufacturing process.
- Integrate all design documents into complete project engineering deliverables.
Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Required Experience and Technical Skills
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the design of pressure vessels, storage tanks, and/or heat exchangers.
- Experience must be gained within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), fabrication, or oil & gas engineering environment.
- Prior experience on Saudi Aramco or similar major oil & gas client projects is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in mechanical calculation software such as PV Elite, COMPRESS, or equivalent tools.
- Experience in reviewing or managing outsourced or subcontracted design engineering deliverables is an advantage.

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. The role requires a dedicated professional capable of working effectively within a project-driven engineering environment.
