The Role of Lean Manufacturing Manager

The Lean Manufacturing Manager serves as the global technical reference for Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. This full-time position is critical for architecting and implementing a "Standard Way of Working" across all global operations. The role ensures that every process, from Request for Quotation (RFQ) to Ready for Shipment (RFS), is synchronized, waste-free, and adheres to rigorous technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, audit, and update the Value Stream flow process, optimizing and eliminating inefficiencies between RFQ and RFS stages.
• Audit and validate global standards for all manufacturing processes, ensuring Lean methodologies are consistently applied and sustained.
• Lead high-impact Six Sigma projects to reduce variability in manufacturing and administrative processes.
• Review and approve all plant expansions and new equipment designs to ensure adherence to established technical standards for flow and ergonomics.
• Oversee the Logistics Expert to ensure material movement operates as a "pull" system that supports manufacturing without creating bottlenecks.
• Lead the deployment of Industry tools, including automation, real-time tracking, and digital twins, to visualize goods flow and provide global information.
• Define and monitor the "Global Health Scorecard," which includes lead times, OEE, scrap, handling damage, and inventory turns.
• Lead complex Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) for systemic failures that impact quality, leveraging Six Sigma principles.

Strategic Leadership and Development

• Develop the Lean strategy and apply it in operational areas, aligning plant-level activities with corporate productivity and quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team comprising two Methods/Standardization Engineers and one Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Define the competency levels required for Lean and Logistics across the organization and lead certification programs for experts.
• Oversee the "Global Best Practice Library," ensuring lessons learned in one facility are standardized across all others.
• Act as the final "Gatekeeper" for all new production methods, ensuring they meet Lean criteria before operational handover.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma roles is required.
