About the Role: Operator Straightener

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Al-Jubail is seeking a dedicated Operator Straightener to join our team in Jubail, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for maintaining operational excellence and ensuring the production of high-quality tubular products. The role involves adhering strictly to area-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safety, efficiency, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities and Operational Focus

The Operator Straightener is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment within their area, contributing directly to a secure working environment and the consistent delivery of products that meet all customer specifications. This role actively supports continuous process improvement initiatives, ensuring that operational practices evolve to enhance productivity and quality standards.

Core Duties and Accountabilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions, and arrange for necessary repairs.
• Execute maintenance-related tasks (Trade Assist) during both planned and unplanned operational outages.
• Read, understand, and comply with all company policies, procedures (including SOPs), instructions, rules, and regulations related to safety, environment, and quality.
• Respond appropriately to operational situations, providing information and reports, and communicating effectively with team members.
• Ensure accurate product identification and traceability throughout the entire production process.
• Optimize output to achieve the highest possible product quality.
• Complete all required paperwork and electronic data collection accurately and promptly.
• Ensure pipe straightness meets customer, API, and ARMCO specifications.
• Effectively and efficiently set up, monitor, and operate the straightening machine.
• Conduct regular visual and dimensional inspections of straightener rolls and replace worn rolls as required.
• Ensure proper cooling of straightener rolls.
• Regularly clean the scale pit to maintain operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• High School level education with a minimum of 3 years of on-the-job experience in a related function.
• A Post High School Diploma is not mandatory but is preferred, especially in a similar industrial sector.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based at our facilities in Al Jubail, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The role operates within a manufacturing environment focused on tubular product production, requiring adherence to strict safety and quality protocols.
