Electrical Technician

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team in Al Khafji, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves carrying out maintenance, installation, overhauling, and modification activities on the plant's electrical machinery and equipment. The role focuses on ensuring effective functionality and reliability in accordance with standard maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily electrical maintenance and routine preventative electrical maintenance work according to schedule and procedures to support continuous operations.
• Monitor the physical condition of equipment in the assigned plant and report non-conformances to the Electrical Supervisor to ensure effective maintenance as per Quality/HSE standards.
• Respond to electrical failures and implement corrective actions in adherence with procedures and guidelines to minimize downtime and maximize equipment functionality.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using necessary tools, including diagnosing, repairing, and testing circuit or wiring faults, and locating cable faults to confirm connection points and cables can withstand capacity voltages.
• Diagnose causes of electrical malfunction or failure in operational equipment such as transformers, motors, relays, switches, and control devices, taking corrective measures in collaboration with the Electrical Supervisor.
• Read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment according to specifications and maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
• Check necessary stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory control.
• Update the maintenance logbook and record details of work carried out, including defaults, problems, findings, and equipment conditions.

Collaboration and Relationships

The Electrical Technician will work closely with the Electrical Supervisor, Engineers, and Supervisors within the Maintenance section, as well as the Operations Team. This role requires strong internal collaboration to ensure seamless operations and effective problem-solving.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance

• Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programs, and projects in line with organizational standards.
• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard maintenance procedures, and instructions to ensure work is carried out consistently and to the required standard.
• Comply with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls to guarantee employee safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant electrical technician role.
• Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance, installation, overhauling, and modification activities on electrical machinery and equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical malfunctions.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and wiring diagrams.

Additional Duties

The Electrical Technician may be required to perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
