The Role of Senior Engineering Manager

Almarai is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance function within its Infant Nutrition manufacturing facility. This full-time position, based in Al-Kharj or Riyadh, is crucial for ensuring optimal plant reliability, operational efficiency, safety compliance, asset performance, and continuous improvement in a highly automated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Engineering Manager will provide strategic leadership for critical engineering and maintenance functions, including:

  • Preventative maintenance programs.
  • Engineering projects.
  • CAPEX planning and budget control.
  • Development of engineering teams to support world-class infant nutrition production standards.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements across all operations.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or institution. Additional engineering qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on engineering and maintenance experience within food, dairy, beverage, or infant nutrition manufacturing.
  • At least 5 years in a similar leadership position within an Infant Nutrition manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with leading infant nutrition manufacturers or equivalent organizations.

Essential Experience and Technical Skills

The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive experience and technical proficiency in:

  • Preventive Maintenance (PPM) implementation, engineering operations, and asset reliability management.
  • Spray Drying plant operations and maintenance.
  • Maintaining Can Filling, Sachet Filling, Ready-to-Drink (RTD), and Ready-to-Feed (RTF) production equipment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of packaging systems, including Tetra Pak, GEA Can Fillers, and Rovema packaging equipment.
  • Automated manufacturing equipment, utilities, and engineering control systems.
  • Engineering project commissioning, plant start-ups, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Location and Work Type

This is a full-time position based in either Al-Kharj or Riyadh.
