Senior Registrar Family Medicine

About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Senior Registrar - Family Medicine to join their team in Al Khobar. This full-time role involves providing comprehensive primary healthcare to individuals and families of all ages, covering preventive, acute, and chronic care. The Senior Registrar will deliver care both physically and through telemedicine, focusing on diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, promoting health education, and coordinating care with specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive telehealth and in-person consultations, including thorough patient history and physical examinations for Family Medicine and general medicine complaints.
• Provide healthcare to all family medicine target populations across age and gender.
• Deliver chronic disease and preventive care consultations and follow-up as per clinical guidelines.
• Utilize video conferencing platforms for virtual assessments and perform in-person assessments as needed.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management, referrals to specialists, and lifestyle modifications.
• Oversee ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions, adjusting treatment plans based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Practice population health management by identifying and addressing community health issues, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education.
• Document findings and treatment plans meticulously in patient records.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.
• Adhere to all relevant medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and quality assurance standards for both telehealth and in-person practice.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of telehealth regulations and best practices.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and clinical audits.
• Regularly review compliance protocols and participate in training sessions.
• Prepare reports for audits and inspections, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Professional Development and Platform Proficiency

• Continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills in family medicine, in-person, and telehealth best practices.
• Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and online courses.
• Stay abreast of advancements in family medicine and telehealth technology.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain proficiency in utilizing the designated telehealth platform, including video conferencing, secure messaging, and electronic health records (EHR) integration.
• Actively participate in training programs and stay updated on platform enhancements.

Patient Safety and Satisfaction

• Maintain compliance with all patient safety standards across clinical interactions.
• Report any patient safety risks or issues to the appropriate staff in the quality department.
• Practice safe medicine to ensure no patient harm, explaining possible medication side effects and proper use.
• Maintain satisfactory patient consultations through effective communication, complete history taking, empathy, clear explanation of diagnosis and management plans, and answering patient queries.
• Monitor patient feedback and address concerns promptly.

Collaboration with Healthcare Teams

The Senior Registrar will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care. This includes sharing insights and recommendations to support patient-centered care approaches and facilitating communication among team members regarding patient status and needs.
