Role Overview: Design Manager

The Design Manager will spearhead design initiatives within the Oil & Energy sector, leading a team of engineers to drive innovative design solutions. This full-time role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing static equipment such as Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Skids, Tanks, and Steel Structures. The manager ensures engineering accuracy, compliance with industry standards, and provides timely support throughout project execution and bidding stages, aligning project specifications with overall company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of static equipment according to project requirements and applicable codes, including ASME, TEMA, and API.
• Perform mechanical calculations, thickness calculations, nozzle load checks, and finite element analysis (FEA) as required.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
• Prepare Material Requisition (MR/PR) with Technical Delivery Conditions, Material Take-Off (MTO), material specifications, and purchase requisitions.
• Ensure all design documents meet project technical specifications and adhere to QA/QC standards.
• Provide comprehensive design-related support during the bidding stage, including estimation and preliminary design inputs.
• Offer solutions to design issues during project execution and coordinate effectively with fabrication teams.
• Attend client meetings, audits, vendor inspections, and customer visits as necessary.
• Ensure the timely completion of design, drawing, and Material Requisition activities within established project deadlines.
• Maintain accurate design records, revision logs, and comply with document control requirements.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including procurement, QA/QC, production, and project management.
• Provide on-the-job training and technical guidance to junior Design Engineers and CAD Operators.
• Review CAD drawings and fabrication drawings to ensure design intent is consistently maintained.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, specifically with static equipment in the Oil & Energy sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and analyzing Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Skids, Tanks, and Steel Structures.
• Proficiency in relevant industry codes and standards such as ASME, TEMA, and API.
• Experience with mechanical calculations, thickness calculations, nozzle load checks, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and manage design initiatives.

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern Province, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a dynamic industrial division, collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.
