Faculty Member in Histology

About the Role

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a Faculty Member in Histology to join the General Medicine Program in Dammam, Ash Sharqiyah. This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching in microscopic anatomy, supporting student development, and contributing to research and academic excellence in line with accreditation standards. The position requires 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Histology lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions to medical students.
• Teach core areas including cell biology and tissue structure, epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissues, and organ system histology.
• Facilitate practical sessions using microscopes, slides, and digital histology platforms.
• Integrate histology with anatomy and physiology for a systems-based approach.
• Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard and other digital teaching tools.
• Prepare and administer assessments, including using tools like ExamSoft.
• Maintain accurate academic records, including attendance, grades, and reports.
• Provide academic advising and mentoring to students.
• Support students in developing microscopic interpretation skills and monitor their performance, providing timely feedback.
• Conduct and publish research in histology or related biomedical fields.
• Participate in academic conferences and research initiatives to contribute to the program's research culture.
• Ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards, such as NCAAA.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement efforts.
• Prepare course and program reports.
• Participate in departmental meetings and academic committees.
• Collaborate with anatomy and physiology faculty for integrated teaching approaches.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Histology, Anatomy, or a related biomedical field.
• MBBS with specialization in Histology/Anatomy is mandatory.
• Experience teaching Histology in a medical or health sciences program.
• Familiarity with microscopy, virtual labs, and digital pathology tools.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard and other educational technologies.

This is a full-time position within the General Medicine Program at Batterjee Medical College, located in Dammam, Ash Sharqiyah. The role involves working within an academic setting focused on medical education and research.
