About the Role
GE Vernova is seeking a Logistics Project Manager to join our team in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to managing all logistics activities for the SEC 2 Bulk Program, ensuring business fulfillment requirements are met. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading logistics operations within KSA, from point of origin to site, adhering to DDP incoterms.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary interface with customers and business teams to develop and manage logistics plans for various projects within the SEC 2 Bulk Program, actively participating in all relevant internal and external meetings.
- Lead OTR (Order to Remittance) activities, propose consolidation plans, and execute shipping transactions.
- Act as the technical, logistics, and operational interface between the customer, internal Project Managers, Saudi-based Project Managers, and global logistics coordinators.
- Supervise and control project and fulfillment milestones, including scopes, timelines, expenses, and risks, in coordination with the SEC 2 Logistics team in France and the KSA supply chain leader.
- Identify, log, and track project risks and opportunities, reporting regularly to Project Managers.
- Support all documentation and organize local executions for Saudi Arabia’s 14 projects.
- Issue and update the Master Packing List for the customer.
- Coordinate with Sourcing and Supply Chain teams to ensure all delivery and shipment release requirements are fulfilled.
- Actively participate in logistics-related project initiatives, serving as a subject matter expert to drive operational excellence.
- Serve as the contact point for freight forwarder representatives.
Operational Management and Compliance
- Be accountable for the logistics scope from factories to the DDP delivery location, and assist in managing operational and financial KPIs such as deflation, EAC, $/kg, demerges, and premium charges.
- Interface on all logistics matters with the customer/EPC, claims, and insurance claims.
- Verify and ensure all import documentation from suppliers/factories is accurate, complete, and compliant with importing regulatory standards, in coordination with customs specialists.
- Collaborate with the customs team and other internal/external stakeholders to ensure on-time customs clearance and delivery to site, with an emphasis on avoiding additional costs like penalties, storage, and demurrages.
- Adhere to existing GE Vernova logistics best practices in Saudi Arabia.
- Act as the single point of contact for internal and external customers requiring logistics solutions.
- Ensure corrective actions and containment plans are implemented to prevent incident repeatability.
- Complete administrative tasks, including shipping, cost, and tracking number registration, and maintain necessary reporting and analytics such as EAC (estimated at completion), actual, and premium costs.
- Ensure all logistics transactions comply with GE Vernova and Country Compliance regulations, with support from the KSA supply chain leader.
- Collaborate with fulfillment, sourcing, customs teams, and other key stakeholders to implement strategies for reducing overall logistics and customs cycle time.
- Actively pursue cost avoidance methodologies during the logistics execution phase.
- Follow proper escalation channels within and outside GE Vernova for all conflict resolutions.
- Comply with GE Vernova EHS life-saving rules and STOP WORK culture.
Required Qualifications
- College or university degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of work experience in logistics, with a specific focus on energy projects in Saudi Arabia.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with customs teams and brokers.
- Experience with SEC / EPC energy projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and forwarders globally.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English (verbal and written).
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Proficient communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (preferably SAP, ORACLE).
- Mentoring or training abilities.
- Experience with LEAN Principles is preferred.
- Self-disciplined approach to defining functional goals in accordance with contract objectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Location and Employment Details
This full-time position is based in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. Applicants must possess the legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship or time restrictions. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this role.
