About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a dedicated Pool Attendant to join the Sheraton family in Dammam. This full-time position is crucial for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests utilizing recreational facilities. The role involves promoting a fun and relaxing atmosphere through an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.

Role Overview

As part of the Sheraton brand, known since 1937 for fostering community and connection, the Pool Attendant contributes to delivering engaging experiences and thoughtful service. This position requires active observation of the recreational facility and adherence to established safety and operational procedures to ensure guest well-being and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties for the pool deck, including washing, mopping, and general upkeep.
• Monitor activity within the recreational facility and respond to emergencies in accordance with local operating procedures.
• Communicate and enforce the rules and regulations of the recreation facility to guests.
• Identify and report situations where guests may be unable to safely participate in activities to a supervisor or manager.
• Provide immediate assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Manage towel services, including obtaining, folding, and stacking towels according to company procedures.
• Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management, and complete required safety training and certifications.

Guest Service and Professional Conduct

• Welcome and acknowledge all guests in line with company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs.
• Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities and express genuine appreciation to guests.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintain a clean and professional appearance, ensure confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Comply with all quality assurance expectations and standards.

Required Qualifications and Certifications

• Education: High school diploma or *** equivalent.
• Experience: No related work experience required. No supervisory experience required.
• Certifications:
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Fitness Equipment (certification or training)
  • Any additional certification or training required by local and state agencies.

Physical Demands

• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Capability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as stairs and service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Read and visually verify information in various formats (*, small print).
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
