Product Configuration & Master Data Management Engineer

About the Role

Talents First is recruiting on behalf of a major international industrial group that is expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia through a strategic industrial partnership. We are seeking an experienced Product Configuration & Master Data Management Engineer to support the industrialisation of configurable products and integrate engineering, commercial, and manufacturing processes through SAP and connected enterprise systems. This full-time position is based in Dammam, Eastern Province, and reports to the Head of Process and Systems.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimising product configuration models in SAP Variant Configuration (LO-VC) and CPQ, while ensuring the accuracy and consistency of material master data across integrated platforms. This role combines technical configuration expertise, industrial process understanding, and cross-functional collaboration, directly contributing to product data integrity, configuration performance, and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise SAP VC models, translating engineering specifications and industrial processes into configuration rules, characteristics, classes, and object dependencies.
• Maintain and validate CPQ product models, ensuring consistency between commercial configuration requirements and industrial production processes.
• Manage the creation, maintenance, and extension of SAP Material Master Data (MM), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with industrialisation requirements.
• Coordinate with product configuration developers and PLM specialists to maintain consistent product data across CPQ, SAP ERP, PLM, and MES environments, including connected systems such as Windchill, Configit, and TDC.
• Test and validate configuration changes across SAP environments, support user acceptance testing (UAT), and troubleshoot configuration issues affecting industrialisation and production.
• Identify opportunities to improve configuration performance, data quality, automation, and the reliability of system interfaces.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to define and automate the transfer of relevant product characteristics and pricing information from variant configuration into supplier purchase orders.
• Prepare technical documentation, provide training on configuration models and master data processes, and support internal stakeholders in resolving configuration-related challenges.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in product configuration and master data management.
• Demonstrated expertise in SAP Variant Configuration (LO-VC) and CPQ.
• Strong understanding of industrial processes and their integration with enterprise systems.
• Experience with SAP Material Master Data (MM) management.
• Familiarity with PLM, MES, and connected systems such as Windchill, Configit, and TDC.
