The Production Operator Role

AkzoNobel is seeking a Production Operator to join our team in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for operating a diverse range of machines involved in manufacturing and filling paint products. The operator ensures all activities comply with agreed operational methods, standards, and the Company’s Health, Safety, and Environment Policy, directly contributing to the achievement of weekly production plans. The role also involves providing guidance to other Machine Operators when necessary.

Core Manufacturing Operations

The Production Operator is responsible for executing key manufacturing processes, including:

• Operating various machines for paint manufacturing and filling, such as large and small SHDs, bead mills, filling, and labelling equipment.
• Pre-batching raw materials according to picking lists.
• Transferring, checking, and charging raw materials into the production process.
• Controlling process materials, managing sampling, and overseeing filling operations.
• Maintaining specified process parameters, including temperature and machine speed.

Equipment Management and Logistics

This position also involves responsibilities related to equipment upkeep and material movement within the facility:

• Cleaning machines, associated equipment, and work areas using appropriate cleaning agents.
• Operating forklift machines to stack and remove materials from racks and transfer pans on the production floor.
• Picking and preparing finished goods for dispatch.
• Ensuring assigned machines and work areas are consistently maintained in a tidy and clean condition.

Compliance and Team Contribution

The Production Operator contributes to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and team performance:

• Supporting team leaders in business improvement projects and coordinating to maximize machine utilization.
• Coaching other Operators on paint manufacturing methods, processes, and machine operation.
• Raising job tickets for machine breakdowns within the system for the engineering team.
• Carrying out weekly/monthly BBS audits and conducting daily safety checks for all machines and equipment in the assigned area (Packaging, Coil, or M&PC), completing daily check sheets.
• Adhering to ISO and HSE Procedures to ensure policy compliance.
