Technician Mechanical

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Technician, Mechanical to join their team in Dammam. This full-time role involves performing mechanical maintenance activities under the guidance of a superior, applying acquired skills, and ensuring personal and team safety. The technician will contribute to both shift and general maintenance operations and participate in planned plant jobs.

Key Duties and Tasks

• Execute job instructions provided by the Foreman or Supervisor.
• Utilize acquired mechanical skills effectively.
• Assist with shift and general shift maintenance activities as a team member.
• Perform planned jobs within the plant as required.
• Conduct tasks such as overhauling and testing gearboxes, pumps, cylinders, and valves.
• Perform roller assembly and testing, reporting any issues to the superior.
• Execute welding jobs.
• Interpret basic mechanical drawings.

Safety Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to organizational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies.
• Follow all safety instructions pertinent to assigned tasks.
• Report damaged Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), unsafe machines, or equipment to the relevant staff.
• Maintain provided PPE in good, workable condition.
• Avoid horseplay and misuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to responsible personnel.
• Attend planned safety trainings.
• Exercise the right to refuse any unsafe work.

Qualifications and Requirements

• For expatriate candidates: 10 years of schooling plus a 2-year Industrial Technical Institute Course in mechanical-related disciplines (*, Mechanical Fitter, Rigger, Fabricator, Pipe Fitter, Welder, Hydraulic Fitter, Electro Mechanical Technician, Turner, Machinist).
• Ability to communicate in English.
• 5 to 7 years of industrial experience in a steel melt shop.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience for this role.
