Technician Mechanical

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Technician, Mechanical for a full-time position in Dammam. This role involves performing mechanical maintenance activities as directed by a superior, with a primary focus on ensuring personal and team safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute job instructions provided by a Foreman or Supervisor.
• Apply acquired mechanical skills effectively to complete assigned tasks.
• Prioritize personal safety and the safety of others in all work activities.
• Assist with shift and general shift maintenance operations as a team member.
• Perform planned maintenance jobs within the plant as required.
• Conduct overhauling and testing of equipment such as gearboxes, pumps, cylinders, valves, and roller assemblies, reporting any issues to the superior.
• Perform various welding jobs.
• Interpret basic mechanical drawings.

Safety and Compliance

• Understand and adhere to organizational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies.
• Follow all safety instructions pertinent to job tasks.
• Report damaged Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), unsafe machines, or equipment to the relevant staff.
• Maintain provided PPE in good, workable condition.
• Refrain from horseplay and misuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to the responsible personnel.
• Attend scheduled safety trainings.
• Exercise the right to refuse any unsafe work.

Qualifications and Requirements

• The ideal candidate will be multi-skilled.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English is required.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is expected.

Specific Requirements for Expatriate Candidates

• Completion of 10 years of schooling followed by a 2-year Industrial Technical Institute Course in mechanical-related disciplines (*, Mechanical Fitter, Rigger, Fabricator, Pipe Fitter, Welder, Hydraulic Fitter, Electro Mechanical Technician, Turner, Machinist).
• 5 to 7 years of industrial experience specifically within a steel melt shop environment.
