Welding Inspector

About the Role

HUDSON is seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to join a reputable company in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a professional with a strong background in the Oil & Gas sector, responsible for ensuring welding quality and compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding inspections in accordance with approved project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.
• Inspect fit-up, joint preparation, root gap, alignment, and ongoing welding activities.
• Verify compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Check welder qualifications and ensure all welding is performed by approved personnel.
• Monitor preheating, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) as required.
• Conduct visual inspections of completed welds, identifying defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, and incomplete fusion.
• Coordinate with NDT personnel for radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant testing, as applicable.
• Review welding drawings, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and method statements.
• Prepare inspection reports, maintain quality records, and raise non-conformance reports when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with project QA/QC requirements and applicable safety procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant welding inspection experience is required.
• Candidates must hold a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• CSWIP or CSWIP certification is mandatory.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or refinery projects is essential.
• Gulf experience is preferred, though candidates with relevant home-country experience are also eligible.

Compensation

The basic salary for this position ranges from SAR 3,000 to SAR 4,000 per month.
