About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join their team in Dhahran. This full-time position plays a critical role in ensuring the operational readiness of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft. The role involves close collaboration with various departments and organizations, including Supply Chain, Workshops, Quality, Product Safety, and MODSAP. Support may also be required for the RSAF away from the primary maintenance facility.

Role Context and Responsibilities

In this challenging yet rewarding position, the Aircraft Maintenance Technician is instrumental in generating aircraft for the RSAF customer. The job holder is responsible for performing maintenance tasks in accordance with approved data, standards, and procedures outlined in the MOE. Strict adherence to tool control procedures is mandatory. The technician is accountable for the quality and completeness of all work performed or signed off on aircraft or aircraft components, ensuring compliance with approved data.

  • Work within the framework of the TSS Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and RSAF Technical Orders.
  • Complete all required maintenance paperwork, aircraft forms, records, and maintenance documentation in both hard and electronic formats.
  • Contribute to safeguarding TSS program timescales through safe, efficient, and cost-effective practices.
  • Identify and report areas of inexperience or training requirements for oneself and colleagues to the immediate Line Manager.
  • Provide On-the-Job and theoretical training for trainees.
  • Deputize for the Aircraft Supervisor as required.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a recognized qualification at NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or have completed a technical apprenticeship, or hold an equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA. Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience in an operational flying aircraft environment is required, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training or experience on the same aircraft type, or successful completion of a BAESSA apprenticeship program (SNTTP/TSNTTP).

  • Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment-specific training may be necessary.
  • Successful candidates, Saudi or Expatriate, must obtain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level prior to commencing employment and maintain it throughout their tenure in the role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering principles.
  • Understanding and application of Human Factors, error management, Health & Safety, and proactive hazard analysis relevant to the role.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

While not mandatory, knowledge of the aerospace and defence industry is advantageous. An understanding of RSAF operations and working practices would be beneficial. Familiarity with Q-pulse, IMS, and an understanding of M&CA processes are also considered desirable.
